Name
I liked creating my own letters that I got online. Also, I like the way mine came out. My letters move, turn, say something, and make a sound!

DeBug It! Reflection
I enjoyed the Debug Its. I liked being bale to try something new for a change instead of just creating scenes. I think it is best to create things in scratch and play around with it before debugging, so you are familiar with the blocks. I found it interesting how my friend and I were able to both debug certain ones in different ways.

Moving Reflection
I really enjoyed this task. I think it's interesting how there are three ways you can move a sprite and that they all move them at different speeds. This helped me get familiar with the moving blocks.
10 Block Challenge
The Ten Block Challenge Activity helped me further understand the scratch program. It was challenging at times when you wanted to use other blocks, but you weren't allowed too. It was fun to see how many different things you could think of doing with only ten blocks.

My Experience Using Scratch
It was hard to understand and find all of the tags at first, but then the step by step introduction really helped me. It was frustrating when the sprites wouldn't do what you wanted them too. Finally, when it was working the right way, I felt really accomplished. I like using Scratch more than the drawing activity we did earlier. I feel most creative when picking out my sprites and backgrounds.

HTML Turtorial
One thing I want to know about html after doing the tutorial, is how to change the font and color of text. Also, I would like to know how to make the text centered in the center. On last thing I would like to know, is if there are specific html codes for making captions for pictures or other things of that sort. I learned that html stands for hyper text markup language and it is basically a bunch of tags that you use to tell the computer how you want want you insert into a document or webpage to come out. Also, you can change the size of your text depending on what number you put after an h in a tag. One thing I'm concerned about when you need to make a webpage is how patient you have to be when you are typing in all of the codes.

Other Binary Codes
I really liked Taylor Perillo's binary code. I think it is interesting enough and easy to understand. When we think of +, many people will also think of -, so in a way the two symbols go together and I liked how Taylor picked these two in particular to post. A sentence in her code that I came up with is as follows:
Taylor is kind.
+-+------+++--+-++---+++++--+--+--++--++-+-++-+-++-+--+--+--
Her binary was also similar to the one that I made up, so that made me be drawn to it even more.

New Binary Code
For my binary code instead of 0s and 1s, I chose to represent the 1s with *s and the 0s with #s.
Example:
In traditional binary 0100000101011000110001111001101001001001001010111000100 is code for saying hello friend in a text messege .
For my binary code that code is the same as #*#####*#*#**###**###****##**#*##*##*##*##*#*#***###*## and gives you the same text as hello friend.

Response to Video on Binary
1. One thing I learned is that my phone and headphones use voltage to make music. The lower the voltage, the lower the pressure coming out and vice versa. I also learned that you can represent very large numbers, but when putting the voltage up to high numbers, it can become very dangerous. Lastly I learned that computers have to be exact and the voltage can affect the sound quality.
2.I don't understand how the adder knows what to do in every situation and how the adder has to change the range of the voltage.
3. I would like to know more about who created binary.

Google Boys
Google turned form a two man operation to a large corporation when the demand for it increased. At first, two classmates in college wanted to provide a faster and "cleaner" search engine then the ones that were already in use. When others started seeing how efficient Google was, more and more people started to search and then more and more links had to be added. The two boys could not do this on their own anymore. To make profits, they started making space where companies could advertise their products and services on Google pages. Problems they have faced are competition with other search engines and making sure googlebot finds the most accurate links. Google has the fastest search engine and make money with the companies the advertise for. To find their information Google created googlebot. Googlebot is s program that searches the world wide web all the time to find all of the links created on the internet so they an use them when appropriate.

Eliza Review
At first glance, Eliza seems very human like. As I started to use the program more and more, Eliza started becoming extremely computer like. She would give me the same responses and avoid my questions to her.
I think she could be more computer like if she had some information that she could say about herself instead of always putting the spotlight on the person using her.
Computers really can't express emotion because you can't hear them or see any expressions. Humans tell emotion with their expression and voice where a computer can't do those things.
I never think that computers will be a good human like substitute. They just don't do the job.

Research on Rythm Wheels
Using the same site that had the software on it for cultural bead looms and rug designs etc., I did some further research on rhythm wheels. Rhythm wheels contain musical rythyms. African rhythms that are played on drums, congas, claves and things like the slit drums and
maracas, and Spanish instruments, such as the Vihuela guitar, create
a unique hybrid music. Rythym wheels allow you to simulate a rhythm much like ones that can be created with these instruments. African music is known for its polyrhythms. Slaves use to play drums until masters would take them away because they were a distraction. African music was spread to different places like Cuba because of the slave trade. The Rumba quickly spread from plantations where slaves worked to the slums. When the Cuban Revolution occurred, it changed the style of music that was popular in Cuba. The Dominican Republic also had influencing of the African drumming in their culture from slaves. Plantation owners there soon banned all forms of drumming and dancing because they thought slaves would be able to communicate long distance with music. Puerto Rico was the next country to adopt African Music because of slaves. The Rhythm wheel shows the diversity and similarity between the countries music styles.
My own design
I decided to design a wagon. First, I drew it on graph paper, and then I used the rug design software to make it online!

Native Beadwork assignment
Native American bead work is loved and well known for its beauty.A key concept involved in the Native American's bead work is mathematics like geometry for example. The designs shown in the bead work show four fold symmetry. A lot of times, you will be able to find reflection symmetry in these designs too. In four fold symmetry, the images that were displayed all had rotational symmetry as well and included colorful geometric shapes. The left side was also identical to the right side. The next page of the site, tells us more about reflection symmetry. Reflection symmetry is when you can divide a picture down the middle either horizontally or vertically, and see two mirror images on both sides of the middle. Four base counting is something used in the Native American culture. An example is how a tee pee is made with four base poles. Navajo sand painting also display many types of symmetry. Yupik parka decoration uses reflection symmetry. The Eskimos use their belly button point as an origin and have the same images on each side. One last example of how they used symmetry was in their bead looming which is much like the Cartesian coordinate system. Bead work was created before the Europeans arrived in America. Bead work was used to show history and depict images of events. They can also record messages. Lots of hard work goes into creating bead work and other things with symmetry.

My Communications
Throughout my day I communicate with others electronically quite often. The most frequent way that I communicate with others is by texting. Texting for me is easy and quick especially when I only need a quick response. I do prefer calling and talking to people, but texting is very easy. My friend unlike me is always using snapchat to talk to other people. I use snapchat once in a while, but not as much as her.

Scavenger Hunt Reflection
I liked this activity. I thought it was easy and got me thinking on how to get the information I needed in the fastest way possible. I'm good at only searching for key words to get a refined search. I could improve on trying to use other search engines and ways of finding things instead of googling everything. I could also improve on refining my searches even better to be directed right to my answer.

Me
My name is Julia Pustizzi and I am currently a Sophomore at Reading High. I am on the cheer leading team and also on a cheer leading team that is year round outside of Reading. I love spending time with my friends and family. I also like to watch movies. My favorite movie is Bridesmaids. I also enjoy reading good books. My favorite book is Catching Fire. In school my favorite subject is history because I find it more interesting than any of my other classes. My favorite season is the fall because my birthday is in fall, the weather is just right, and I love Halloween and Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because I get to spend time with all of my cousins and eat good food. I love to travel so when I am older I hope I get to travel the world and become a photographer.
Computer Buying Project Parnter Review
Working with my partners on the computer buying project is easy. We each divide the work into equal parts and have no problems. Everything has been great so far.
